Where does conflict come from?

Conflict arises from a clash of perceptions, goals, or values in an arena where people care about the outcome. The breeding ground for conflict may lie in confusion about, or disagreement with, the common purpose and how to achieve it while also achieving individual goals within an organization. In addition, the competition for limited (internal and external) resources will feed conflict.

Conflicts, differences of opinions on how to allocate resources, different working styles and personalities, these are an inevitable part of any successful organization, however, conflict doesn't have to be an impediment to your organization's growth or the success of a particular initiative. Mediation is an interactive process where the mediator uses a wide variety of techniques to guide the process in a constructive direction to help the parties find their optimal solution. Mediation is a flexible dispute resolution process in which an impartial third party facilitates negotiations between parties to help them devise their own, mutually acceptable solutions. The mediator will ask questions, reframe issues, and assist the parties to understand each other and help identify solutions. Mediation is a business process to resolve a business problem.
